Ealing Talking Newspapers (Registered Charity no. 1029211) make a weekly audio recording of the local news for blind and partially sighted people. Articles are read from the Ealing Gazette and other local sources as well as material of general interest for visually impaired people.
Volunteers record the news articles at home and then forward their recordings to a technician who assemble the news bulletin. A magazine section, comprising items of general interest, including content from Talking News Federation (TNF) and the BBC’s In Touch programme, is then attached to the News and the whole programme uploaded to the TNF website.
A dedicated web player then allows listeners to access the programme.
